among his earlier readings, american super-heroes by the masters of the genre were preminently featured: fantastic four, eternals, hulk, thor, spiderman, x-men, batman were all part of his steady diet. with the appreciation for those larger-than-life stories came a love for the men behind'em: jack kirby above all, and then john romita, gil kane, gene colan, steve ditko and the legendary marvel bullpen in general.

later in his life, comolo started discovering non-american comics by the likes of moebius, caza and jimenez and those too made a strong impression on his style, as did the talented jazz players that have been a soundtrack to all those four-colors adventures.
